This past weekend we drove down to Texas to visit Uncle Jung, Aunt Lisa, Elianna, and Eliot. We had a great time! They live on a beautiful farm with horses, a donkey, chickens, a goat, and two kitties. Sorry that there are no more pictures of the outside!
Push up contest!
Funnels make great toys.
Max went to the store to pick up some things we needed and look what he brought home!
Every boy needs a ball!
It’s kind of hard to grab sometimes,
and sometimes it rolls away,
but mommy gets it back for me!
Yep, I sure do like my ball! Thanks, Dad!
This morning we spontaneously decided to go to Oklahoma City and see the Capitol. We had a great day and learned a lot too! We also ate lunch at Panda Express, went to the Half Price bookstore, enjoyed ice cream at McDonald’s and got some groceries. A successful day, don’t you think?
The dome was only added recently (2001). It had been in the original plans, but because money shortage at the time, was too expensive to build.
This is a smaller version of the sculpture on the top of the dome.
The tour was so interesting that Graham slept through most of it.
Reassuring Oklahoma artwork. (Our next door neighbor has a fairly large storm cellar that he has told us to use any time, so tornadoes aren’t so scary anymore.) 🙂
Graham blew raspberries for most of the car trip. Isn’t he the cutest?!
Our first hot meal in our new house!
Lovely food, isn’t it? Okay, let me explain. The gas for our house wasn’t turned on until Tuesday afternoon. We got here Saturday. So, no working stove, oven, or hot water for most of 4 days. Our trailer shower was looking mighty nice. We had been getting tired of sandwiches since we’d been living on them, fast food, and continental breakfasts for almost a week. So, in desperation, we went to Walmart, bought a microwave and microwavable burritos. At least they were hot!
Next day the gas was turned on and we celebrated by taking hot showers and eating steak, pilaf, watermelon, and salad, all prepared in our wonderful, working kitchen!
Alas, poor little Graham didn’t get to have the steak; he was stuck with bananas.
“I’m not quite sure about those, mom.”
Trying out the new flavor.
“I think it’s okay…”
“Yep, bananas taste just fine!”
